BOLTON v Chelsea: Medical tests keep Alonso out of firing line

Last updated at 15:05 05 October 2007

Bolton midfielder Mikel Alonso is almost certain to play no part in Sunday's

Barclays Premier League home clash against Chelsea.

The 27-year-old Spaniard has undergone medical tests following a blow to his

head during the UEFA Cup tie against Rabotnicki Kometal.

Alonso has complained of severe headaches but his expected absence is offset by

the return of compatriot Ivan Campo.

Campo was ineligible for the UEFA Cup tie and he should return to the starting

line-up along with the likes of Nicolas Anelka, El-Hadji Diouf, Gary Speed,

Kevin Nolan and Ricardo Gardner.

But the Trotters are still without Heidar Helguson, Ricardo Vaz Te and JLloyd

Samuel through injury.
