cement his position at

the head of the country's

top two-mile chasers with

victory in this afternoon's

Paddypower.com Tingle Creek

Chase at Sandown (2.35).

Kauto Star may have sidestepped a

tilt at today's Grade One event, but

there is no shortage of quality in a

cracking renewal with the likes of

Ashley Brook, Monet's Garden and

Twist Magic present alongside the

Champion Chase winner.

However, there are reasons for

believing Alan King's charge can live

up to the hype and deliver the goods

as he returned with a fine weight carrying

performance at Cheltenham.

Contrast his campaign with that of

12 months ago when he arrived at

Sandown without a run under his

belt, trying to tackle a subsequent

Gold Cup winner.

In the circumstances Voy Por Ustedes

(11-8 Coral) excelled to chase

home Kauto Star despite lacking for

race fitness. There should be no

excuses on that score this afternoon.

Monet's Garden is likely to prove a big threat but connections have

always thought him more effective on

better ground and the young pretender

Twist Magic could be the one

to chase home the selection.

Trainer Gary Moore has enjoyed

plenty of success in the Paddy Power

Handicap Hurdle and WINGMAN

(Sandown, nap, 3.10), 8-1 with Coral,

could prove the best of his trio.

A useful handicapper on the Flat, the

five-year-old travelled like a progressive

hurdler when scoring over course

and distance last month and, although

the winning margin of a neck suggested

he scrambled home, he held on

well after a mistake two out.

His profile is similar to that of

Moore's previous winners Versasi and

Rob Leach and he could be some

value to lift a competitive event.

COUNCELLOR (Lingfield, nb, 3.05)

is on a roll at present and can land his

third win in a fortnight.

Today's lay is Schinken Otto

(Wetherby, 2.55).
