Hammers' decision time over Bellamy operation

Alan Curbishley said a decision will be taken this weekend on whether Craig Bellamy will need another operation.

The West Ham striker is suffering from persistent abdominal pain and has been out of action for six weeks.

"His hernia op hasn't solved the problem, and now he has had one injection followed by a second," said Curbishley. "Another operation may be the only option."

Curbishley is also waiting on the fitness of Lee Bowyer, who is also recovering from a hernia operation, before naming his squad for Sunday's trip to Blackburn.
