She's been in New York City promoting her new episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls, in which she gets down and dirty in the Italian Dolomites.

But Kate Hudson cleaned up her act on Friday, glowing in a gorgeous evergreen ensemble as she made her way to lunch.

The 36-year-old actress highlighted her lean figure by wearing a fitted sleeveless blouse and shimmering pleated over-the-knee skirt.

The Almost Famous star teamed her pieces with nude patent leather pumps, elongating her legs.

Kate added to her retro glam appeal by concealing her eyes with funky white round sunglasses, as her blonde locks flowed down with a slight wave.

The mother-of-two also accessorised with some gold jewels while carrying a structured black shoulder bag.

The Wish I Was Here star had a book at hand, seemingly ready to relax with her reading material at the restaurant.

Her novel of choice was When The Cypress Whispers by Yvette Manessis Corporon, about an American woman who returns to her grandmother's home in Greece and discovers her World War Two secret. Kate is known to be a big fan of Greece and holidays there every year.

Kate's outing followed an appearance on morning programme, the Today show.

'What a fun morning supporting our episode of #RunningWild @todayshow with the man himself! @beargrylls A little different from the great outdoors but I was pleased to have a little concealer and mascara for this adventure,' the actress wrote on Instagram with a selfie of her and Bear Grylls, 41.

But back in New York City, Kate Hudson was all glammed up as she headed to lunch in a tank top and skirt by Christopher Kane.

The metallic emerald hue and round sunnies gave a distinct retro vibe while the blonde beauty's nude Christian Louboutin pumps and structured Sophie Hulme tote modernized her look.

Kate and the British adventurer spent two days hiking in the Italian Dolomites, a rocky mountain range close to the country's border with Austria.

The episode with the romcom queen is the first episode in season two of the NBC series that sees the former soldier take celebrities to some of the most remote and pristine places in the world for a 48-hour expedition.

Meanwhile, Kate has recently been spending time with her rumoured beau Derek Hough, 30.

The pair have been spotted together a few times in New York City the past week.

The celebrity duo were first linked in December after being spotted making out at West Hollywood hot spot, The Nice Guy.
