Brough torments his old pals

Danny Brough's

man-of-the-match

performance for

Castleford in last

season's National League

One Grand Final sealed

promotion for them.

The downside was that

Brough had already

committed himself to

neighbours Wakefield

for this year in case the

Tigers missed out.

Grix

In the clear: Grix goes over for Wakefield

He was man of the

match again yesterday,

masterminding the

Wildcats' victory and

kicking nine goals.

They stormed into a

24-0 lead in as many

minutes as tries from

props Adam Watene and

Richard Moore, hooker

Sam Obst and winger

Scott Grix nailed

Castleford to their own

line. It was not until

three minutes before the

break that they put

themselves on the

scoreboard with a

Richard Owens try.

There was no respite

for Castleford in the

second half as Brough

soon came up with

another clever kick that

led to Grix's second

touchdown.

Two more

tries came from former

Castleford winger

Damien Blanch and

Grix completed his

hat-trick.

But not everything

went Brough's way. He

chipped over the

Castleford defence and

re-gathered to touch

down but the video

referee disallowed it for

an earlier obstruction.
