She enjoyed a free-spirited adventure through the Southwest in the days following her final bow on Broadway.

And on Friday, Vanessa Hudgens glowed during a trip to Comic-Con in San Diego with her boyfriend Austin Butler.

The 26-year-old flashed the flesh in a woven black top that featured a plunging V-neck as she walked outside hand-in-hand with her boyfriend, aged 23.

Her boyfriend wore his blonde hair down in a relaxed 'do, and he kept it comfortable in a grey blazer, white shirt, and ripped jeans.

Austin and Vanessa have recently ended a whirlwind trip through the Southwestern region of America.

The High School Musical star Instagrammed a series of images from her magical getaway as she travelled through the region.

The trip was likely a much needed getaway for Vanessa, whose Broadway run on Gigi ended in June.

The Spring Breakers star said that the end of Gigi was 'bittersweet', telling People: 'I've never done the eight show a week schedule, so it's a grind. I'm excited to have some time off.'

She added of the experience: 'It's been amazing. It's been the hardest I've ever worked. I've learned so much about myself.'

Vanessa can next be seen in horror/comedy Kitchen Sink, alongside Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick, Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, Patton Oswalt and Joan Cusack.

The film, which is set in a town where vampires, zombies and humans used to get along but are now at war with each other, comes out on September 4.

Vanessa will then be returning to the musical world, playing Rizzo in Fox's televised special Grease: Live next year.

Julianne Hough is taking on the role of Sandy, but it's rumoured original Sandy (aka Olivia Newton-John) could be appearing as Principal McGee.
