Drummer Danny would love to beat out Spurs final tune

Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey admits one of his big musical ambitions is to emulate Chas and Dave by writing an FA Cup final song for Tottenham.

Back in the 1980s the Cockney duo hit the charts with legendary anthems like Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur and Ossie's Dream and the club's pop connection continued with Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle's (sadly) unforgettable Diamond Lights.

Lifelong Lilywhite Goffey, who admits one of the worst things about touring is not being able to get to White Hart Lane for home matches, said: "I've actually written a football tune and I'm really hoping Spurs might be interested.

"If Supergrass don't record it I might end up doing it with my side project Van Goffey.

"Ideally it's a song for the FA Cup final, when the time comes. I love all the old Spurs singles by Chas and Dave, they're real classics."
