Her famous collection of tattoos have become the topic of conversation after she stripped off and flashed her naked body in a shower scene in Orange Is The New Black last month.

But despite her love for her meaningful inkings, it seems even the 29-year-old star has lost count of exactly how many times she's gone under the permanent pen.

She explained: 'I feel like they get less every year because as soon as they get close to one another, they become one.'

'At one point, I probably had about 60 or something. Now I feel like I have three,' she added.

After the interview wrapped up, Ryan snatched her phone from her and began recording himself, before Ruby joined the shot and started waving at her fans.

Clearly desperate to see some of Ruby's tattoos, from her 'tramp stamp' to the 'meow' inscribed inside her bottom lip, cheeky TV host Ryan attempted to coax her into giving a 'walking tour' of her etchings.

Finding it amusing about how long it would take to capture every single inking she's got, Ruby replied: 'How much memory have you got on that phone?'

Meanwhile, the former MTV VJ, who came out age 12 after being horrifically bullied at school, recently admitted she saved for gender transition surgery from the tender age of five.

Speaking to Access Hollywood she said it was a daytime segment on Oprah that first sparked her to save up for the surgical procedure.

'I had this jar that I would collect dollars, in fact it was probably cents, so I had like 19 cents to go towards this surgery that I didn't really know a lot about,' she explained.

'I started saving probably from the age of like five and when I got to 15, that's when I got more into my body and I shaved my head and my mum was just like, "I don't know what's going on right now, but if you are happy then do it," ' she added.
