American singer-songwriter, Beck Hansen and his wife, actress Marissa Ribisi sold a Santa Monica home for $2.9million which they had purchased nearly five months ago.

The modestly-decorated, Tudor-style California home was sold on July 8 after being on the market for a little over a month, according to the listing agent's site.

The couple reportedly bought the 2,521-square-foot house in February for $2.711 million - which was listed at the time as 'an opportunity to remodel or rebuild' - $316,000 more than the published asking price, according to Variety.

Since their purchase of the home, it mostly remained the same apart from changes including white interiors throughout, built-in shelving and the addition of a fireplace in the living room, according to Canyon News.

Beck, 45, and 40-year-old Ribisi's humble abode boasts four bedrooms, a bonus room, two full bathrooms and one partial bathroom - along with quarter-sawn oak hardwood floors and a front lawn. The backyard features a brick and concrete patio with dining and seating areas.

Built in 1925, the sun-lit house, north of Montana Avenue is described as being on the 'coveted west side of the street' near Gilette's Regent Square. 

Beck has had a reputation for owning properties for a short time before selling them over the last 10 to 12 years Variety reported: among them include a mini-mansion he purchased in 2002 for $2.25 million before selling it for $4.2 million in 2005; in 2005 he paid $3.95 million for a house on almost half an acre directly below Runyon Canyon and sold it in 2007 for $4.8 million; and prior to that sell, he bought a ranch house in Point Dume that he sold by 2010, but at a loss of around $355,000.

The five-time Grammy Award with a net worth of $25 million, who was born as Bek David Campbell, is considered by music critics to be one of the most influential artists on the landscape of modern pop and rock music.

Earlier this year, he won Album Of The Year at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for his critically acclaimed 12th album Morning Phase. While he was receiving the award, Kanye West stormed on stage and told him he should have given it to Beyonce for her self-titled 2013 album.

Ribisi, with whom Beck has two children, has appeared in films including Dazed and Confused, Pleasantville and The Brady Bunch Movie.
