Nasri injury blow for Arsenal: Midfielder suffers knee injury on international duty

France midfielder Samir Nasri will miss the World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Wednesday because of pain in his right knee.

Nasri felt a nagging pain after Tuesday's training session, and coach Raymond Domenech decided to rest him "only as a precautionary measure," said team press officer Francois Manardo.

The 21-year-old Arsenal playmaker had a poor game in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Austria, and was replaced by striker Nicolas Anelka after 79 minutes.

If France fails to beat Serbia at Stade de France, Domenech is reportedly expected to lose his job.
