She's enjoying an extended break in her native Brazil after landing a role in a TV show.

And doting mother Alessandra Ambrosio, 34, made sure her two children, Anja, seven, and Noah, three, got to see the sights of Rio de Janeiro during some time out from her busy schedule on Thursday.

The Victoria's Secret Angel certainly dressed to impress for her family day out, showing off her washboard abs in a plunging grey tie-up top and maxi skirt.

Model Alessandra Ambrosio would look good in a burlap bag. So it's no surprise that the Victoria's Secret Angel cut quite a sartorial swath in her native Brazil as she strolled Rio's streets in a gray, tie-front maxi dress, huarache sandals and a classic pair of round tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Strolling through the streets of the Brazilian city, the model and her two children looked the picture of a happy family.

Alessandra's form-fitting top was tied in the middle to accentuate her toned midriff, while her long skirt clung to her toned supermodel figure.

The catwalk queen appeared relaxed and comfortable in the warm Rio weather, and to match her relaxed outfit, the Brazilian beauty wore a pair of tan strappy sandals.

Wearing her hair up in a loose bun, the mother-of-two added to her chilled vibe with a pair of round-framed sunglasses, while a large tan shoulder-bag was practical and complementary to her footwear.

The family unit were seen taking in the sights of the city, snapping photos and enjoying iced-lollies to keep them cool in the heat.

Alessandra looked in high-spirits, snapping pictures of the scenic views, before getting a friend to capture some precious moments with her children.

Alessandra became engaged to Anja and Noah's father, American businessman Jaime Mazur, in 2008.

But while their father was undoubtedly crushed to miss a day out with his family, Alessandra didn't seem to mind playing a single parent for the day.

It seems her children are already following in their fashion-conscious mother's foosteps when it comes to outfits - Anja even cheekily popped a photoshoot-perfect pose as she wandered in front of her mother.

Alessandro has been enjoying a quick sojourn in Rio while filming her part in racy Brazilian TV show Verdades Secretas.

But that hasn't meant her catwalk job has taken a backseat, as she also made a surprise appearance in Paris last week, walking for the Balmain couture runway at Paris Men's Fashion Week.
