Ian Holloway is in contention to replace Maurice Malpas as manager of Swindon.

Malpas was sacked by the League One side on Friday following a run of poor form, including last weekend's FA Cup exit at Histon.

David Byrne will take charge of Swindon's home game with Leicester City.

Mark Wright, meanwhile, has been appointed Chester manager for the third time.

The former Liverpool man replaces the sacked Simon Davies at the League Two outfit.

Elsewhere, Ismel Demontagnac, who was sacked by Walsall earlier this week, has joined Championship club Crystal Palace on trial.

The 20-year-old former England youth winger had his Walsall contract terminated after being arrested for a breach of the peace last Sunday.
