'I know Rick, I could stop him': Grimes and old friend Morgan fight for control in tense Walking Dead season six trailer from Comic-Con International

  • A four minute trailer for season six of the hit show was unveiled on Friday
  • It seemingly pits old pals Rick and Morgan against each other
  • Morgan seems to be in the good graces of leader of Alexandria and congresswoman Deanna Monroe
  • Daryl finds himself in a precarious situation at the end of the clip
  • Several of the main cast attended a panel at Comic-Con International
  • The has added two new members: Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever
  • Spin-off series Fear The Walking Dead also had a panel and trailer release

At the end of season five, Rick Grimes was joined by the first person to aid him after the zombie apocalypse began; Morgan Jones.

But it doesn't seem to be a happy reunion for the two old friends.

A high-intensity trailer for season six of The Walking Dead was unveiled during the Comic-Con International in San Diego, California on Friday.

One of the biggest themes of the four-minute clip seemed to be the struggle for control of the Alexandria safe zone between Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James).

The first hint of dissension between the two chums comes when Rick says 'I don't take chances anymore,' to which Morgan replies with a smirk on his face: 'And you shouldn't.'

It is obvious that Rick still does not trust the inhabitants of the town to defend themselves as he says during a meeting: 'Listen we'll make this work. We'll keep this place safe. Keep our families safe.'

Showdown: As they have had a prior history, it doesn't seem to be the happiest of reunions between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan Jones (Lennie James)

In his short time in the safe zone, it seems as if Morgan has already made a connection with a higher-up as he is constantly being shown confiding in congresswoman Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh) who is the leader of Alexandria.

Morgan tells Deanna and a few others: 'I know Rick, I could stop him. We have to.'

He later tells Rick: 'If you've chosen this life, you will die... You get the hell out of here and you don't ever come back.'

Confidant: In the four-minute trailer, it appears as if Morgan has built a relationship with congresswoman Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh) who is the leader of Alexandria

In question: It seems that Morgan and Deana's kinship may wear on the congresswoman's relationship with Rick as they just began to have an understanding at the end of the previous season

This feud all comes to a head toward the end of the clip with Rick wields a gun as he passionately says: 'Do you really think you're taking this community from us? From Daryl? From Michonne? From Glenn? From me?'

He appears to point his firearm down at Morgan as he ends the clip: 'Do you have any idea who you're talking to?'

The video fades to black seemingly signaling the end until fan favourite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is shown in the forest with a gun pointed at his head.

The captor tells him: 'Here's the deal, you don't say s*** and I won't kill you.' Daryl replies: 'I ain't who you think I am.'
