Jessica Chastain takes the plunge in a lacy dress as she discusses her new 'kinky and violent' horror film Crimson Peak at Comic-Con

Crimson Peak is being touted as a gothic 50 Shades with an expected 'R' rating, with Jessica Chastain set to star.

The Zero Dark Thirty actress, 38, looked elegant as ever as she joined a panel to discuss the film at Comic Con in San Diego on Saturday. 

The flame-haired beauty tucked her trademark locks behind her ear and kept her porcelain skin light on make-up, but added a striking bright red lip.

The Interstellar actress opted for a plunging V-necked lacy multi-coloured top for the forum. 

She oozed sophistication as she teamed it with a black lacy peekaboo skirt which gave a glimpse of her finely toned legs. 

The star joined Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro to answer questions about the forthcoming sexy horror film, which is 'kinky and violent' according to Screen Rant.

Set in a crumbling mansion in a largely rural and mountainous region of northern England in the 19th century a young author falls in love and marries Sir Thomas Sharpe but then discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be. 

The young author is played by Australian Mia Wasikowska, 25, who kept her make-up to a minimum and swept her blonde pixie cut to one side in an outfit of remarkably similar style to Jessica. 

The pretty star - who played Alice in Tim Burton's Alice on Wonderland in 2010, is dating Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg.

Tom Hiddleston replaced Benedict Cumberbatch, who pulled out of the movie - which is due for release on October 16 2015. 

Jessica flew in to the convention from London, where she has been filming scenes for her forthcoming film, The Huntsman for several months and was seen socialising at the pre-Wimbledon party at Kensington Palace. 

The film is the prequel to the 2012 movie Snow White and The Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart.

Jessica stars alongside Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt in the latest installment which will be released in April next year.

Meanwhile her blockbuster The Martian, starring Matt Damon, will be released later this year.

She's riding high in her private life too, having just bought an apartment in New York with her Italian fashion executive boyfriend, Count Gian Luca Passi di Preposulo
