Who knew they were friends? Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton is chic in green at Nicky Hilton's pre-wedding party

  • Chelsea Clinton, 35, was among guests at Nicky Hilton's pre-wedding bash
  • The former 'First Daughter' arrived with husband Marc Mezvinsky
  • Her mother Hillary, 67, is battling it out to become the Democrat nominee

With former and would-be American presidents for parents, Chelsea Clinton isn't short of good connections.

But while political friends aren't much of a surprise, Ms Clinton's appearance at Nicky Hilton's pre-wedding party in London last night shows she's no slouch when it comes to society chums either.

Looking glamorous in a fitted green dress, the mother-of-one was effortlessly elegant as she worked the room at Spencer House.

Snag Louboutin's peep-toe pumps like Chelsea

Chelsea Clinton showed up at Nicky Hilton's pre-wedding party looking understated and chic in a simple dark green body-con knee-length dress. We love the modern cut of the frock--the sleeves are flatteringly wide, the neck is graceful and the length is just perfect.

Clinton displayed some serious fashion chops kicking up the look with a pair of platform peep-toe pumps by none other than the red-sole king, Christian Louboutin. If you want to emulate her well-heeled look, click right to have your very own.

Posing with a colourfully dressed Countess Maya Von Schoenburg and with a broad smile on her face, the 35-year-old certainly appeared to be enjoying the experience.

Ms Clinton, who arrived at the event on the arm of husband Marc Mezvinsky, is also expected to attend the wedding later today.

The marriage of Nicky Hilton, 31, and James Rothschild, also 31, is being held in the British capital in Kensington Palace's Orangery - a restaurant that is sometimes hired out for weddings.

Although none of the Royal Family are expected to attend, guests at last night's event included Thomas van Straubenzee, Princess Charlotte's godfather, and Dave Clark, boyfriend of Princess Beatrice.

Ms Clinton, who lives in New York, became known as the 'First Daughter' during her father Bill's years in office and could yet do so again should her mother Hillary get her way.

The 67-year-old is currently bidding to become the Democrat candidate in next year's presidential elections, having formally announced her candidacy in April.

Since then, she has hit the campaign trail, albeit not always uncontroversially.

Last week, she hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons after her aides were seen lassoing journalists during an appearance in New Hampshire last week - a moment commentators described as 'a new low' in her relationship with the Press.
