Not ready to be Solo! Harrison Ford brings co-pilot along as he takes helicopter for a spin...one day after thrilling Star Wars fans at Comic-Con

Harrison Ford's physical recovery from his March plane crash appears to be going well but he's not ready yet to return to piloting his beloved aircraft by himself.

The actor, 72, was seen at Santa Monica Airport on Saturday checking out his Bell helicopter before going for a trip.

And while the Star Wars star has clearly no qualms about continuing to fly, he was seen taking off with a co-pilot next to him.

In fact, although Ford has been spotted flying in his planes several times since his injuries have healed, he has not yet been seen flying solo.

On Thursday, the Indiana Jones star, his wife Calista Flockhart, 50, and their son Liam, 14, were photographed touching down in their private jet at Santa Monica Airport after returning from a family vacation.

And the actor made the trip as a passenger, leaving the flying to another pilot.

The veteran star suffered serious injuries when he was forced to crash land his vintage plane on a Venice golf course on March 5.

He broke his pelvis and ankle in the accident that happened when the aircraft lost power shortly after take off and also had a large gash to his head.

But at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday, he told fans he felt 'fine.'

It was the first public appearance by the Hollywood movie icon since the crash and he received a standing ovation when he walked on stage at the convention.

He was reunited with his Star Wars co-stars Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill who greeted him warmly - with Fisher even planting a kiss on his lips to everyone's delight as it harked back to when Han Solo and Princess Leia finally locked lips in the original trilogy.

Ford told fans that he's thrilled to be reprising the character again.

'The original Star Wars was the beginning of my working life…so it was great to be back,' he said.
