Downton goes to Wimbledon: Michelle Dockery puts on a regal display in retro blazer and short white culottes at the women's singles final

We're used to seeing her as the elegantly turned-out Lady Mary, looking the picture of Edwardian style and sophistication.

But Michelle Dockery, who plays the widowed heiress in the popular period drama, put on a blazing fashion display at Wimbledon on Saturday.

Wearing a geometric print blazer and knee-high white culottes, the 33-year-old played a grand slam in the ever-competitive fashion game at centre court.

The elegant actress channelled a yesteryear vibe that called to mind the elegant fashion of her Downton character, whilst still appearing modern and stylish at the same time.

Wearing an art-deco print balzer teamed with a duky-pink top, the Romford-born beauty stood out from the crowd as she watched Serena Williams win the tennis championship for the sixth time.

Michelle rounded her sharp ensemble off with a pair of knee-high, white culottes, which gave her elegant outfit a summery streak - perfect for the Saturday sunshine.

Wearing her brown hair in a centre-parting and pushed back behind her ears, the Emmy-award nominee continued her sophisticatedly simple theme with her accessories.

Only opting to wear a pair of sleek, gold, wide-framed sunglasses, understated gemstone earings and a ring.

Look chic in chevron with this Giorgio Armani blazer

She played an early 20th century English aristocrat on the British TV drama, Downton Abbey, but in real life Michelle Dockery keeps her wardrobe young, modern, and fresh.

And for her appearance at Wimbledon, the Anna Karenina star stuck to her signature style in a pleat front top and white shorts. She topped it all off with a chevron print shawl-collar jacket by Giorgio Armani and a pair of tortoise shell sunglasses.

We love how the bold pattern and neutral shades put a twist on the traditional blazer. Michelle's casual look works for the office and for the evening with a pair of cigarette jeans and heels.

The tense game had the actress on the edge of her seat at times, with her hands raised to her face, she looked as if she could barely watch the game at one point.

While Michelle has been enjoying the play at the historic tennis tournament from her privileged perch, her character Lady Mary Crowley - despite her regal blood - hasn't attended the glitzy sports event yet.

But while fans of the hit period drama are champing at the bit for the sixth series of Downton, which is due to hit screens later this year, its bosses could be planning even bigger things.

The show - due to conclude at the end of the next series - could be on the verge of being made into a feature film.

Gareth Neame, the show's producer, said in April: 'I can confirm that there have been rumours that there might be a Downton movie. Our position on that is that would be very interested.

'It is definitely something that we're contemplating. It would be great fun to do. I think it would be a wonderful extension of everything people love about the TV show.'

Adding: 'But I can't confirm that it's definitely going to happen. It would take a lot of planning and thinking about. We shall see.'
