Manchester United still in the hunt for Morgan Schneiderlin despite impending arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger
- Man United have reached an agreement to sign Bastian Schweinsteiger
- Louis van Gaal's side are still interested in signing Morgan Schneiderlin
- United had a bid thought to be around £20m rejected earlier in July
Manchester United remain in talks with Southampton over Morgan Schneiderlin - despite their capture of fellow midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
An official from Old Trafford travelled to south coast last week in a bid to thrash out a deal with the Saints for the Frenchman.
And Sportsmail understands that while an agreement has not yet been reached, the move is not affected by £15m Schweinsteiger's pending arrival in Manchester.

United confirmed that terms had been agreed with the 30-year-old Germany World Cup Winner on Saturday, with a medical set to follow.
That led to speculation that Schneiderlin's hopes of a move to United could be over - but a source said that the deal is not off and that it is not linked to the swoop for Schweinsteiger.
They added that talks were ongoing.
United had a bid thought to be around £20m rejected earlier in July by Southampton, who value the player, also a target for Arsenal, at closer to £27m.
The offer was dismissed by Saints manager Ronald Koeman as not 'serious' although a new bid is expected for Schneiderlin, who was not in the Southampton squad for their pre-season friendly against Valencia on Saturday.

Meanwhile Jordy Clasie, who has been reportedly lined up as a repacement for Schneiderlin, was left out of Feyenoord's pre-season friendly with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The Dutch midfielder worked with Koeman at Feyenoord, who confirmed via Twitter that he is close to an exit.
'Jordy Clasie is not playing against Fortuna Dusseldorf this afternoon,' they said.
Ronald Koeman has agreed to let the midfielder leave if Champions League club make an 'acceptable offer'
'The reason is that serious interest has been shown for the captain.'
United manager Louis van Gaal, who takes his side to the US for a pre-season tour on Monday, had wanted Schneiderlin on the plane.
Should a move be sealed he would be the latest capture in a busy summer that has also seen the arrivals of Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich, forward Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven and right back Matteo Darmian from Torino.
