The 47-year-old founder of a matchmaking website is facing felony kidnapping and aggravated assault charges after being accused of attacking his wife because she refused to perform sexual acts.

Darrell Boulby is accused of urinating on his wife, attacking her and keeping her captive for more than an hour during an incident at their home in Scottsdale, Arizona, earlier this week.

Boulby came to the US from England in 1993 to work in the matchmaking industry and founded My Top Matchmaker, a site promising customers in Virginia, Florida and Arizona 'the path to love'.

According to a police report, Boulby and his wife got into an argument on Wednesday night because she refused to perform sexual acts on him at their home.

After she turned him down, she said Boulby informed her he had called two other women to satisfy his sexual needs and that if she did not perform for him sexually, he would urinate on her, azcentral.com reported.

After an argument, Boulby urinated on her head and shirt, knocked her over, dug his fingers into her eyes and covered her mouth until she was unable to breathe, charging records allege.

Boulby is then accused of detaining his wife with force for more than an hour before she was finally able to escape to a neighbor's house and contact authorities.

The couple's neighbor Linda helped the victim, according to CBS 5

Linda said: 'I just heard some screaming and banging on the door. I saw that it was a young woman wearing only her bra and her blue jeans, so I opened the door and she just fell into the house crying.

'I was sure that she feared for her life.'

Boulby, who had bite marks on his fingers when he was booked, declined to answer questions and was being held Friday in a Maricopa County jail on a $60,000 bond.

In a promotional story about My Top Matchmaker, he said: 'Our matchmakers have a combined 30 years of experience.

'Each of them is in a loving, married relationship. Being happily married is one of the best ways to match make; we can teach the story of love.'
