Super late! Elle Fanning gets the giggles as she leaves the Chateau Marmont in LA in the early hours of the morning

She is best known for that radiant, infectious smile.

And Elle Fanning seemed to lose all control of it as she slipped out of LA's Chateau Marmont in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 17-year-old burst into a fit of giggles as she headed with a friend along Sunset Boulevard after a night out at the exclusive hotel.

Snag a black peasant top like Elle

We're loving Elle Fanning's laidback California style as she was snapped giggling as she was leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles early Saturday morning.

Wearing a simple black peasant crop top that she's pulled down off-the-shoulder, she strikes a casual yet feminine tone. We think it serves her well.

A peasant top should always be a staple in your closet. It looks great with denim, a flowy skirt or even a pair of shorts. We found a similar version of Elle's top at Planet Blue; we can certainly imagine the starlet shopping at the quintessential Malibu shop. Click right if you want to check out the store's offerings.

Or, check out the gallery below. There are some inventive variations on the theme from Nastygal, Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe.

Even after getting into his car and driving off, the two companions could not seem to stop chuckling.

The Maleficent star wore a black off the shoulder crop top with jeans and black flat sandals.

The young actress seemed to feel warm enough not to wear the varsity jacket she was carrying.

In the same vein she was happy enough to let her long blonde hair fall across her make-up free face, even though she had a hair tie at her disposal on her wrist.

On Thursday Dakota Fanning's little sister looked a bit more composed - but no less happy - when she attended the opening night of Outfest in LA in ribbon-riddled cocktail dress.

She later went onstage the Orpheum Theatre to serve presenting duties at the LGBT festival, which runs through July 19.

Fittingly, Elle - born Mary - will next play a transgender teen called Ray in the indie dramedy Three Generations.

The timely tale - hitting US theaters September 18 - also stars Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon, and Tate Donovan.

'Taking this special journey with Ray showed me the human capacity for love, courage, and acceptance,' Fanning told Teen Vogue this week.

'Along the way, I came to realize how many transgender people do not experience the same compassion and support, and I hope this film brings more awareness to their struggle.'
