'My whole life has led to this moment': Behind-the-scenes footage reveals Simon Pegg WILL be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Simon Pegg will be appearing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it has been revealed.

A behind-the-scenes video released at Comic-Con International 2015 on Friday evening showed the 45-year-old talking excitedly about the franchise while on set in Abu Dhabi.

The actor, who recently starred in Star Trek Into Darkness, was seen both in and out of costume in the footage, which showed the painstaking measures the crew had to take to film the movie.

When he is initially seen, he can be heard saying: 'My whole life has led to this moment. I'm in heaven.'

In a later shot, where he appears to be in an alien costume with a flannel on his head, he adds: 'It's Star Wars. I burn for Star Wars.'

It is thought Simon will only be recognisable by his voice.
