Redknapp warns his Spurs must fight till the end to survive relegation battle

Harry Redknapp has admitted for the first time that Tottenham will be involved in the relegation battle until the last day of the season.

Spurs haven't won in the Barclays Premier League since December 8 and are level on points with bottom of the table West Bromwich Albion after a miserable campaign that has seen them win just five of their 22 games so far.

And after Tottenham dropped two more points at home to Portsmouth on Sunday, Redknapp warned fans to expect a tense run-in.

Writing in his column in The Sun, the Spurs manager said: 'It's going to be a tough few months because Tottenham are in it until the end.

'When I think about it, it has to be the closest division in years. Every club absolutely dreads going down to the Championship. It has put the fear of God into everyone.'

Just four points separate the bottom half of the table and Redknapp believes only seven clubs are safe from the drop.

'From West Ham down, there are 13 teams still involved in the relegation battle this season,' said Redknapp. 'Gianfranco Zola will not regard his (West Ham) team as safe yet, although they are in a better position than my Tottenham team at the moment.

'The winners are going to be the supporters. For those of us ringside it is going to be a thrill-a-minute ride - 13 clubs slugging it out right through until May.

'But while the fans will win, the managers involved will lose. Sleep, appetite, their lives - until the relegation issue is sorted at the end of the season.'
