Former X Factor contestants Chloe-Jasmine Whichello and Stevi Ritchie have announced they are engaged.

The unlikely couple first enjoyed a passionate fling during their time on the show in 2014 and eventually began dating again in December before confirming their romance with loved-up displays in April.

It appears their ‘magical’ sex life is one of the reasons why they are planning to tie the knot as Stevi bragged: ‘If we were at sixth base before, now we’re definitely a ten – the sex life is very magical’.

Speaking to The Sun, the 34-year-old added: ‘Instead of saying “shag”, now I say “make love”. We have had a really great connection in bed since the start.’

Stevi had previously claimed that he reached 'sixth base' with 24-year-old Chloe shortly before she was eliminated from the competition in October.

Chloe-Jasmine, 24, insisted that she had no idea that her boyfriend was planning to propose and revealed that she immediately text her X Factor mentor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, to thank her for ‘bringing this amazing person into my life’.

Sussex-born beauty Chloe revealed that Cheryl sent her congratulations and Chloe-Jasmine told the publication that she planned to invite Cheryl to the pair’s wedding in Essex.

She went on to add: 'And I think Stevi should have Simon Cowell as his best man.'

Stevi admitted he managed to nab the engagement ring with a ten per cent discount as he revealed his eagerness to marry his 'ditzy' fiancee, whom he proposed to by hiding the ring in a £10 handbag.

He shared his joy about their news on Twitter as he wrote: 'Hi everyone we are very pleased to announce that me and @CHLOEJASMINEW are engaged I am over the moon thank you peeps'.

Last year saw Chloe go through heartbreak after she was dumped by her boyfriend Craig Wiffen following her brief fling with Richie.

She said at the time: 'It was very innocent. But to me, love should be unconditional. I made a mistake. You should be able to make a mistake and be forgiven.

NOVEMBER 2014 - Chloe is dumped by her then-boyfriend Craig Wiffen who reportedly tweeted: 'Chloe-Jasmine is an alcoholic, a liar and a cheat. I hope you and Stevi are very happy together.'

DECEMBER 2014 - The pair set tongues wagging as they were pictured arriving at the X Factor wrap party together.

JANUARY 2015 - Chloe was pictured looking affection with Stevi as they pair were spotted on a train journey from London to Stevi's hometown, Colchester.

JANUARY 2015 - During an appearance on Friday's Good Morning Britain Stevi teased that a romance could be on the cards saying: 'It's all up in the air at the moment, me and Chloe we're good friends, we've been seeing each other, you know, because we are good friends, we get on so well...'

APRIL 2015 - The couple confirm their romance with a PDA session in London

JULY 2015 - Stevi and Chloe announce their engagement.

'I'm not ashamed of what I did, because I believe it was part of God's divine plan. It probably didn't help that I didn't tell Craig straight away, but I didn't really have a chance to.'

The singer went on to tell MailOnline: 'It's always upsetting to break up with someone - But I'm ok now. I had only known Craig for a few months, it's not like we had been together for years.'

Stevi, from Essex, was working in a call centre before finding fame in X Factor, but is now pursuing a singing career full-time to provide for his seven-year-old daughter Summer.

Stevi finished in sixth place on The X Factor, while Chloe finished 12th.

Croydon-based crooner Ben Haenow eventually went on to win the competition.
