Is that really suitable for the golf course Victoria Beckham? Posh brings style to the sport in LA

From the front, Victoria Beckham would look like any other busy mother treating her three sons to a day at the golf course.

Even though it is uncharacteristic for the 35-year-old, she appears to be wearing loose jeans, a navy blue sweater, flip-flops and firmly pulled-down baseball cap.

But anyone aware of the former Spice Girl's love of fashion should know that Posh doesn't do simple casual.

So, as she turned round while chatting on her mobile phone, it was no surprise she revealed the seemingly innocent sweater was actually slashed to shreds at the back.

Although this is not common golf-wear, Victoria was more of an observer than a participant in the game played by Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 7, and 4-year-old Cruz at an exclusive course in Beverly Hills.

An onlooker said to the News of the World: 'She left the golf to the boys which was probably just as well.'

Victoria was said to be shocked and upset at the weekend after a £350,000 collection of dresses from her fashion line was stolen in a knife-point hijack.

The designs were stolen from a lorry in a well-planned heist.

The delivery, believed to include between 50 to 75 dresses, destined for sale at Neiman Marcus in New York, had been hijacked soon after it was collected from the offices of 19 Entertainment, in west London, on Thursday.

It is believed the van was followed by the thieves who struck as the van driver made a delivery.

When the driver returned from making the delivery, the van's padlocks were broken and two men burst out of the back of the van carrying two large boxes of dresses.

The driver was left shaken and bruised as he was knocked down when the men barged past.

Mrs Beckham's spokeswoman said it was hoped the spring/summer collection could be remade in time for delivery to Neiman Marcus.

The collection has seen huge popularity since it launched 18 months ago and counts celebrities including Elle Macpherson, Dannii Minogue, Drew Barrymore and Katherine Jenkins among its fans.

Victoria Beckham dresses have won high praise from the fashion press since the collection launched last year and retail for upwards of £1,000.

Last month it emerged that she had chosen Gossip Girl star Blake Lively to become her muse and face of the line.
