Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu insists that signing Paul Pogba is not a priority for the club despite their pursuit of the France international.

The Catalan club have had a bid rejected by Juventus for Pogba but Bartomeu said that manager Luis Enrique had other priorities.

'Pogba is not a priority for Luis Enrique but you cannot rule out for the future,' he said.

Bartomeu, who stood down ahead of the new elections later this month, had previously said that Enrique did not want to sign Pogba last year.

A bid for Pogba was launched by Barca earlier this month, but their £57million offer was knocked back. Manchester City are also interested, but were put off by the £71m asking price.

But Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta previously insisted their star players would only be sold if they ask to leave.

The Catalan giants' supporters are keen to acquire the former Manchester United starlet but Bartomeu claimed Enrique was not so interested.

'Luis Enrique did not ask for Pogba,' he told Cadena Cope. 'The trip to Juventus was not foreseen when I left, but the club is still working.'
