Quentin Tarantino joins seven of his Hateful Eight castmembers at Comic-Con... and reveals retired composer Ennio Morricone will score the western

Quentin Tarantino joined seven of his Hateful Eight castmembers for a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday.

Seven minutes of footage from the 70mm snowy western was screened for the 6,000 fans packed into the convention center's historic Hall H.

The 52-year-old filmmaker announced that famed spaghetti western composer Ennio Morricone came out of retirement to score TH8.

The Weinstein Company just unveiled the highly-anticipated flick's new poster, and the worldwide release happens January 8 (following a limited US release December 25).

The ensemble cast acted on a 30F-degree refrigerated set (like on The Exorcist) to duplicate a cramped 1888 stagecoach during a Wyoming blizzard. 

The Hateful Eight was almost entirely scrapped by the 'p***ed' two-time Oscar-winning writer after first-draft of his script leaked on Gawker in January 2014.

'There were certain plot threads that I didn’t tie up yet,' Quentin explained to the audience - according to THR.

'My process was my process, but even though I yelled and screamed, I continued with my process. It got more public than I wanted it to get.' 

The former Video Archives clerk - who teased he might direct a TV series - also revealed that his 10th feature film will not be his last western.

'You have to make at least three westerns to call yourself a western director,' Tarantino declared.

Meanwhile, Kurt Russell - who plays bounty hunter John 'The Hangman' Ruth - gushed that Quentin was in a 'league of his own.'

'There's nobody like this guy,' the 64-year-old Golden Globe nominee told the crowd.
