Staying out: McCulloch

Lee McCulloch will not come out of international retirement, even though  George Burley has lost his job as Scotland manager.

The Rangers player ruled himself out of selection days before Burley's first competitive match, a 1-0 defeat in Macedonia in September 2008.

McCulloch's last game for Scotland was the 2-1 defeat to Italy in November 2007 and he pulled out of Burley's first squad through injury.

More injuries meant he was not selected again before he made his decision to quit for family reasons and so he could regain his fitness and club form.

And the 31-year-old says he will not make a U-turn, despite Burley being axed by the SFA in the aftermath of Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Wales.

'I'm finished,' McCulloch said. 'I made my decision for my own reasons. If the manager did change, I wouldn't really want to do anything about that. I made my decision and I stick by it.'
