VV Brown: Natural beauty is more important than caking your face in products

I use the entire Celex-C range: toner, cleanser and moisturiser. I'm terrible at sticking to my skincare regime, but when I do follow it, I don't need any make up at all. It's moisturising and keeps the skin smooth. The set costs about £150 from Selfridges and lasts about 3 months.

I don't use Vaseline - my make up artist says it's bad - I just use a Chapstick. On my body, I use a dead sea salt exfoliator every day. It's good for when you're being felt up!

I don't wear much, but if I have to, it's Maybelline Dream Matte mousse (£6.84) as a foundation. It's really moisturising. Then Rimmel black eyeliner pencil (£2.93), Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser (£31.50) and Max Factor's lengthening Masterpiece mascara (£8). It makes you look like you're wearing false eyelashes.

I don't really wear lipstick, just a bit of MAC's clear gloss (£13). I'm pretty happy with my skin - as long as I can get hold of my cleansers, I'm fine.

I buy most of my products from black hair shops - I love Dark and Lovely leave-in conditioner (£2.50) - and I use Tresemmé shampoo and conditioner.

I'm bad with my hairspray - I'll buy any old brand from a corner shop. Or Tresemmé if I'm trying to be good.

I've worn my hair in a roll for years, way before my record deal, so I can do it myself, but for TV, my stylist Vernon Francoise does it for me. It is kind of weird seeing people with the same hairstyle at the moment, but  you know what? I didn't invent the style.

I'm trying to get involved in yoga, but there's not much free time in the diary. I just try eat healthily and have lots of sex. Sex and yoga are my two top tips.

I like cooking when I've got the time - I make a great pasta with shrimp - but I'm trying to lay off the pasta at the moment. I don't eat meat, so it's all about salads and fish.

Look after your skin and hair. Natural beauty is more important than caking your face in products. Who wants to have to cover themselves in make up just to leave the house?
