Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman (pictured bottom right when he was captured last year) is on the run from Altiplano jail, 50 miles outside of Mexico City, security officials said today. It is thought the head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel escaped through a hole in the prison's shower area last night and fled through a tunnel (left and top-right) that led to a half-built house around a mile away.

Kylie Jenner got into an online row with The Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg on Saturday. The 17-year-old reality star was slammed by the actress on Instagram after sharing a photo which showed her with her hair in cornrows. Amandla accused Kylie of 'appropriating black culture' without using her celebrity 'to help black Americans'.

Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma was crowned Miss USA on Sunday in Baton Rouge, beating out 50 other women during the contest that was largely overshadowed by weeks of controversy generated by pageant co-owner Donald Trump, who slammed Mexican immigrants in comments during the presidential campaign. The 26-year-old winner was followed by first runner-up Yliana Guerra, 22, of Texas, and second runner-up Anea Garcia, 20, of Rhode Island. Guerra was one of three contestants who has Hispanic heritage. Jordan, of Tulsa, Oklahoma is a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She attended Boston University, where she earned a B.S. in Health Science. She has appeared in several national and international commercials and feature films, most recently, Hot Tub Time Machine 2.

After losing a rally during the second set tie-break against Federer, a furious Djokovic attempted to rip off his shirt in scenes evoking images of the Incredible Hulk. Except the shirt wouldn't rip. Despite an intense effort to tear it off, and perhaps forgetting the strict etiquette of Wimbledon's Centre Court, the 28-year-old was forced to remove it the traditional way - over his head.

Aaron Kromer, 48, was taken into custody at 2 a.m. by police in Walton, Florida, following the altercation and was released on bond about an hour later, authorities said. Kromer got into a confrontation with three boys over the use of beach chairs near an access point for Inlet Beach in Florida.

Stanley Fredrique, 34, of Elmont in Long Island, took his daughter Natalie to the fast-food chain in Harlem, New York, just before midnight on Saturday and told her to sit at a table and wait for him to return but he never did. Surveillance footage, pictured bottom left, shows the pair happily walking hand-in-hand along the sidewalk together before going into the restaurant. A concerned employee took Natalie, pictured right, to a nearby police station after realizing Fredrique was not coming back. Fredrique, pictured top left as he was arrested, told police he had forgotten her and tried to report her missing the next day. He now faces child endangerment charges.

A Venezuelan weightlifter missed an attempt on the clean & jerk Sunday at the Pan Am Games and fell to the ground -- but still managed to snag a silver medal. 20-year-old Genesis Rodriguez Gomez competed in the women's 53kg Group A at the competition, which is being held in Oshawa, Ontario. She missed her first attempt on the clean and jerk at 106kg. Rodriguez raised the bar to her shoulders and paused before raising it over her head. However, she collapsed onto the platform and the bar fell behind her. Rodriguez later completed her second attempt at the same weight, as well as her third and final clean and jerk at 109kg. She finished in second place.

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Islamic State fanatics have released one of their most sickening videos yet - new footage of hundreds of military cadets being machine gunned to death while lying face down in the dirt. The grisly footage shows executions on an industrial scale, as young men are seen falling from trucks and pleading for their lives before being lay down and sprayed with bullets. The video reveals the true scale of last year's Speicher massacre, where up to 1,700 military cadets are thought to have been slaughtered.

Between 1906 and 1930, Edward S. Curtis, originally from Wisconsin, was commissioned by JP Morgan to document the Native American culture in a project that would have - by today's standards - cost an estimated $35 million. The result was over 40,000 negatives and endless stories and essays. Some 100 rarely-seen photos are at the center at a new retrospective book Edward S. Curtis: One Hundred Masterworks. 'He realized that he could not only preserve a record of the history, culture, and profound humanity of Native peoples but felt absolutely compelled to do so before they vanished forever,' curator Christopher Cardozo wrote in the book. The footage shows a group of people watching two unidentified women getting into an argument in the middle of the street. Courtney Best (right), a 26-year-old employee at Papa Murphy's Pizza in Corpus Cristi, Texas, noticed a white Dodge Avenger matching a description for a vehicle in an Amber Alert for an abducted boy, seven-year-old Nicholas Gomez (left), while on a smoke break during a shift at work on Thursday at about 12.10pm. She matched the car's license plate and called the police as she followed the vehicle out of the parking lot. Soon after, Corpus Christi police pulled over the vehicle and arrested Channing Eloy Galbraith (inset) on a $100,000 kidnapping warrant obtained by Alice, Texas, police department detectives.

Hundreds of people have been forced to flee from their villages located at the foot of the Colima Volcano in western Mexico(top left), following an eruption this weekend. In Chile, the Villarrica Volcano(bottom left), around 460 miles south of the capital Santiago, has been erupting overnight. Mount Raung on Indonesia's main island of Java(top left) has been erupting for weeks, and on Sunday a cloud of drifting ash forced the closure of Bali airport for the second time in a week. Also in Indonesia, Mount Sinabung in Sumatra (bottom right), has been erupting for two months, forcing the evacuation of more than 10,000 people.

A family had their afternoon beach walk interrupted when a baby wombat (pictured) charged at them from the bushes and then proceeded to follow them for the next kilometre. The friendly wombat was very inquisitive- chasing behind them, sniffing at their feet and stopping to indulge in a quick back scratch. Whilst wombats are not usually agressive, they are highly territorial and very capable of inflicting damage when threatened.

An artist is aiming to create an accurate snapshot of the diversity of all women, by photographing 100 volunteer models of all age, shape and size. Amy Herrmann, from Adelaide, launched the Underneath We Are Women six weeks ago and has been 'overwhelmed' by the response. Ms Herrmann said she initially started it as 'a little side project' before she quickly realised the magnitude of what she was setting out to create. A crowdfunding page has been created for the project, and already people have flocked to offer their support and donated.
