Susan Boyle models controversial feathered headdress at T In The Park... after revealing her terror at stalker threat

Former Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle risked causing offence when she wore a controversial feathered headdress at the T In The Park festival on Sunday - where she was an audience-member.

The chart-topping singer was spotted at the annual event in Perthshire, where she playfully sported a very eccentric new look and socialised with headline acts, including The Prodigy.

A number of celebrities have come under fire over the past year for sporting Native American-inspired headdresses, which some see as a form of cultural appropriation.

The carefree images will be a welcome relief for Susan's fans, who recently revealed how she was forced to call in the police after receiving a series of 'frightening' phone calls.

The 54-year-old says the caller told her he knew where she lived as he plagued her with calls over a weekend last month.

Susan has asked police to investigate, telling the Sunday People that she now just wishes to move on from the terrifying incident.

The talented Scottish singer revealed to Katie Hind in the Sunday People that she was bombarded with phone calls at her home in Blackburn, West Lothian on the weekend of June 21.

'I feared for my life from the frightening threats that were being made,' she said. 'I thought this person was going to turn up at my house and that would be it.

'I didn't know how capable this person was of following through with the threats, I thought he was going to do something very bad to me so I called the police.'

Susan added that the male caller was 'rude' about her religion. 'The person on the phone was being rude about the Pope, about Celtic, about my Catholic beliefs. They must have known about my religion, because they were using that to threaten me,' she explained.

The star was so frightened the stalker would turn up at the house she has called home since her childhood, that she called the police on the following Monday. A representative for Susan has been contacted by MailOnline for further comment.

In 2010 the singer suffered another frightening incident when she returned home from recording a charity single for the Haiti earthquake appeal to find a 16-year-old intruder on the stairs.

Moving forward: Susan is putting the incident behind her, with the star looking in good spirits as she received an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow a week after the calls

Susan has explained in the past that her Asperger's syndrome diagnosis sometimes leave her feeling 'a sense of panic', but has insisted that after the phone calls she just wishes to move forward.

Just a week after the frightening incident, Susan looked in great spirits as she received an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow for her contribution to the music industry.

The star, who was the breakout star of Britain's Got Talent in 2009, has also just completed recording her seventh album, which will be released later this year, while a film of her remarkable journey to fame is currently in production.
