George Clooney 'planning to sell Cabo holiday home so he can spend more time with wife Amal'

George Clooney is reportedly planning to sell his holiday home in Cabo.

The 54-year-old actor is said to have made the tough decision to sell his property in the Mexican beach location, as he makes plans to spend more time at home with his wife Amal, 37.

The couple, who got married in Venice, Italy, in September 2014, split the majority of their time between London and Los Angeles.

According to Page Six sources, the jet-set couple are planning to keep Cabo as a regular fixture on their holiday agenda, but will stay with their next door neighbours and close friends Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford instead.

Both Clooney and Gerber's homes were designed by Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta and were his last project before he passed away in 2011.

The compound is called Casamigos - House Of Friends - which is also the name of the tequila brand that Rande and George, who have been friends for over 20 years, launched together.

The news comes two weeks after it was reported that Clooney might sell his Lake Como estate at the end of the summer.

Sources tell Page Six Clooney is thinking of accepting an offer of as much as $100 million for his lakeside, 18th-century Villa Oleandra, which he bought from the Heinz family in 2002, reportedly for around $10 million.

The star is hugely popular in the northern Italy area but he is said to hate the attention that comes with it.

A source told the publication: 'George loves the area and the people who live there, but is conscious of the attention he gets when he is in town.

George and Amal, who is an international lawyer and human rights activist, met at a charity fundraiser in September 2013. He allegedly popped the question the following April as the pair enjoyed a romantic meal together at his home.

The couple have recently been holidaying at the property alongside Hollywood actress Julia Roberts and her husband Danny Moder.

And last month, the pair took their jet-set lifestyle to George's hometown of Augusta, Kentucky.

Showing his wife the simpler pleasures in life, the actor took Amal to sample a spot of good old-fashioned Southern hospitality for his annual family reunion.

Indeed, despite boasting a population of a little over 1,000, the sleepy town seemingly became electrified by the presence of the Hollywood royalty in their midst.

Social media was abuzz through the week with sightings of the couple, with both the Oscar winner and his 37-year old lawyer wife happily posing for pictures with excited townsfolk.

Presumably pleased to be surrounded by familiar faces, George and Amal had dinner with his family at local restaurant Caprioni's - where they even sang Happy Birthday to a stunned woman at the next table.

The couple then attended a private party at the Augusta Pub where they smiled and laughed away the night with the actor's journalist father Nick.
