Ford has been spotted flying in his planes several times since his injuries have healed, but he has not yet been seen flying solo.

On Thursday, the Indiana Jones star, his wife Calista Flockhart, 50, and their son Liam, 14, were photographed touching down in their private jet at Santa Monica Airport after returning from a family vacation.

And the actor made the trip as a passenger, leaving the flying to another pilot.

Understandably fans were worried about the star and have been paying close attention to his recovery.

The star was sure to reassure all those who showed concern at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday as he told fans he felt 'fine.'

It was the first public appearance by the Hollywood movie icon since the crash and he received a standing ovation when he walked on stage at the convention.

He was reunited with his Star Wars co-stars Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill who greeted him warmly - with Fisher even planting a kiss on his lips to everyone's delight as it harked back to when Han Solo and Princess Leia finally locked lips in the original trilogy.

Harrison was lucky to escape more serious injuries after his vintage World War II training plane lost engine power and crash-landed on a golf course in Venice back in March.

And the emotional actor was perhaps reflecting on his near-death experience as he choked back tears when reflecting on what it was like to return to the role of wheeler-dealer intergalactic smuggler Han Solo, which launched him to superstardom.

The former carpenter said: “It should've felt ridiculous. I will tell you that it felt great.

“The original Star Wars was the beginning of my working life…so it was great to be back.'

And the prospect of a big money payday from Disney, as well as what he described as a brilliant script by Empire Strikes Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan was enough to tempt him back into working with an eight-foot Wookie once more.

He said: "The company was the right company, the director was the right director, Larry wrote a great story... I was proud and grateful."

Ford told fans that he's thrilled to be reprising the character again.

'The original Star Wars was the beginning of my working life…so it was great to be back,' he said.
