Rachel McAdams looks leggy in a flirty monochrome checked smock dress and wedges as she runs errands 

'On Wednesdays we wear pink', is perhaps one of the most memorable lines from the 2004 film Mean Girls.

Over a decade later it seems like Rachel McAdams is still adhering to the rules set in place by her former on screen persona Regina George.

Stepping out in West Hollywood on Sunday, McAdams, 36, cut a leggy figure in a checked monochrome smock dress.

Paying a trip to a hair salon, Rachel put on a casual display as she journeyed along the street. 

Hiding her eyes behind a pair of reflective sunglasses, McAdams added height to her ensemble with a black leather wedges which featured a T-shape cut-out.

Wearing her blonde hair out of her face, the 36-year-old actress opted to go make-up free for her pending pampering session.

As Rachel made her way to her hair appointment she was pictured clutching onto her smartphone and car keys.

Toting a grey leather handbag, McAdams completed her outfit with pieces of silver jewellery.

Following her role in Mean Girls, the Canadian star went on to feature in films including The Notebook, Wedding Crashers, Sherlock Holmes, The Vow and About Time.

Currently starring in the latest series of True Detective, Sunday's episode of the hit HBO show featured a truly high jump in the body count.

The fourth installment of the second season ended with a deadly shootout after detectives played by McAdams, Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch pursued their prime murder suspect.

The episode titled Down Will Come was directed by Jeremy Podeswa and creator Nic Pizzolatto shared a writing credit for the first time with novelist Scott Lasser.
