It is interesting to note that Ariana seemingly won't suffer any legal backlash from the incident as on Thursday the gossip site reported that the shop had failed a health inspection due to the incident.

The business was told one of the reasons for it not passing the check was down to 'customers licking donuts incorrectly placed on counter, reported TMZ at the time.

At the time the shop owner of the establishment, where the singer was seen in footage licking the sugar coated goods and also heard saying: 'I hate Americans. I hate America,' was pushing for for charges to be brought against her of 'cross contamination.'

Ariana is not mentioned by name in the report -- but the site says a manager told the inspector the employee didn't know Ariana had tongued the goods, and 'placed them back in display case for sale.'

The business was given a week to sort out the issue and had one letter docked by the health department. They have been left with a B rating for now.

Perhaps part of the reason for the owners apparent change of heart was the four minute video apology, the Problem hitmaker posted on her YouTube page on Thursday.

She apologised to her fans for her actions and comments about hating America but did not mention the Wolfee Donut shop once in the entire clip.

The Problem hitmaker said: 'I just wanted to make a video to apologise again for the whole donut fiasco and craziness because I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologise and express how I was feeling, because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry, which is not, I feel like, relative.'

She went on to address her comment in the shop about hating Americans as she explained: 'I've actually never been prouder to be an American to be honest with you. The advances that we've made in the past couple months and all the wonderful progressive things that have been going on. Never been prouder of this country actually.'

Ariana went on to explain that the incident was a 'rude awakening' after seeing the video of incident.

The Break Free singer added:  'I was so disgusted with myself, I like wanted to shove my face into a pillow and like disappear, but instead of that I'm going to come forward and own up to what I did and take responsibility and say I'm sorry because I reacted in a way that I feel like wasn't necessary to say the least but also just wasn't me at all.'

The controversial incident took place on July 4 as she and her new love interest, backup dancer Ricky Alvarez upset staff members with their behavior.

At one point, the pair shared a couple of kisses but when a fresh batch of donuts was placed on the counter, the singer is heard saying: 'What the f**k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America.'

In the donut shop video, Ariana and Alvarez can be seen at first pretending to lick the doughnuts on display on the top of the counter.

An account of the incident came from 22-year-old Mayra Solis, the cashier on duty at the donut shop who claimed the singer not only didn't purchase any of the donuts she licked but also told the Associated Press: 'she was really rude.'

Since the footage of Ariana emerged on Tuesday, she canceled her appearance at a MLB All-Star Concert on Saturday as she was replaced by Demi Lovato.
