She was a judge on the British version of The X Factor for two series.

But it seems the saying 'out of sight and out of mind' applies to Nicole Scherzinger since the pop princess blanked Peter Dickson, the ITV show's voiceover guru, when she bumped into him outside Toy Room club in London.

When the 58-year-old announcer surprised Nicole outside the venue on Saturday evening, booming her name in his infamous loud voice, she appeared to have no clue who he was.

As seen in a video obtained by MailOnline, the prank went awry when Nicole failed to recognise him and poor Peter was pushed away by her entourage.

Peter was undeterred and came back to try and talk to the 37-year-old a second time, but was once again rebuffed.

When the former Pussycat Dolls singer was quizzed by a photographer whether she knew the X Factor veteran, she seemed baffled and replied, 'Who is Peter?'

Nicole was a member of the long-running talent show's judging panel from 2012 until 2013, sitting alongside Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos, followed by Sharon Osborne the next year.

The star was looking lovely as ever on her night out, dressed in a casual sports jersey top bearing a floral pattern.

Nicole - who is thought to be dating footballer Pajtim Kasami - teamed her bold top with a pair of silk trousers and white stilettos.

Her X Factor mishap shouldn't faze Nicole too much, however, since she is reportedly eyeing up a role on BBC show The Voice.

Should the move happen, she'll have performed a clean swap with former coach Rita Ora, who is one of the new judges on its rival ITV show alongside Simon Cowell.

A BBC source told the paper's Dan Wootton: 'Nicole is meeting with some of the top producers on The Voice this week to discuss the prospect of her replacing Rita.

'Will.i.am, who is our most popular coach, is very close friends with Nicole and has been lobbying hard for her to join the panel.'
