Louis van Gaal and his Manchester United players landed in Seattle on Monday as he prepares to unleash his new signings on the pre-season tour of America.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay were all on board the flight from the UK.

Joining them in the 26-man squad for the tour was David de Gea, who is wanted by Real Madrid, though Victor Valdes did not travel with the team.

UNITED FIXTURES ON PRE-SEASON TOUR OF AMERICA

United vs Club America, Date: Friday 17 July, CenturyLink Field, Seattle, KO 20:00 (local time)

United vs San Jose Earthquakes, Date: Tuesday 21 July, Avaya Stadium, San Jose, KO 20:00 (local time)

United vs Barcelona, Date: Saturday 25 July, Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, KO 13:00 (local time)

United vs Paris Saint-Germain, Date: Wednesday 29 July, Soldier Field, Chicago, KO 20:00 (local time)

United kick-off their pre-season preparations against Club America at CenturyLink Field on Friday, before matches against San Jose Earthquakes, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Van Gaal has admitted he was eager to bring in new players before the trip, which he sees as an essential training camp.

On unveiling £25m Schneiderlin from Southampton just after the £14m capture of Bayern Munich star Morgan Schneiderlin, the Dutch manager said: 'I am very pleased that we have been able to complete this deal before the tour to the United States.

‘That training camp will be very important in our preparations for the new season and gives Morgan and the other players a chance to show our fans what they can achieve together.'

United open up their Premier League season with a match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on August 8, but it remains to be seen whether Valdes will still be at the club.

The Spanish goalkeeper had been tipped to replace De Gea as the club’s No 1 with his countryman being targeted by Real, while his agent had insisted he was not interested in a move to Turkey.

But Valdes' omission from the club's first trip of the season raises doubts about his future, while Rafael was another notable exclusion from Van Gaal’s squad for the tour.

Bayern Munich are meanwhile chasing Angel di Maria, who has not travelled with the squad after his recent efforts with Argentina in the Copa America.
