A superhero bromance! Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds embrace at Comic Con after doing battle with each other as Wolverine and Deadpool in X-Men Origins

Ryan Reynolds did some serious damage to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in 2009's X-Men Origins.

But the action stars caused far less of a scene on Saturday at the annual Comic Con in San Diego.

Hugh, 46, and Ryan, 38, were all smiles as they posed together during 20th Century Fox's panel during the iconic convention.

Ryan, who next year will be seen in his own Deadpool flick, was seen in blue jeans, a black plo shirt and a brown leather jacket.

Hugh, who's nearing the end of his iconic run as Wolverine, was more formally clad - wearing a suit jacket and pants over a white T-shirt.

They were joined on stage by Brianna Hildebrand, who also stars in Deadpool, and legendary comic book writer Stan Lee.

Stan, a former president and chairman of Marvel, co-created the X-Men, Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man comics - among others.

Hugh is expected to reprise his role as Wolverine twice before retiring the character - once in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse, and again in the third Wolverine film, scheduled for a 2017 release.

'I felt like it was the right time to do it...[I've played Wolverine for] 17 years, I never thought in a million years it would last this long,' he told Dr. Oz back in May.

He was later seen posing with Garrett Hedlund and Levi Miller, both of whom he'll be seen across in Pan.

Meanwhile, Ryan for the first time will lead a film as Deadpool, a comic book hero with a cult following, with the blockbuster ready for its release next February.
