Power play: Andrew Sheridan

Andrew Sheridan is one of two likely changes to the England team for Saturday's crunch game against New Zealand at Twickenham from the side that won in Sydney against Australia last June.

The prop is set to replace Tim Payne at loosehead after recovering from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the game for nine months, while Dylan Hartley may well nudge ahead of fellow hooker Steve Thompson, who seem sure to revert to the bench.

Although Payne did little wrong on tour Down Under, Sheridan's huge power was always going to figure again once the Sale Shark, 31 tomorrow, had returned to full fitness.

Mark Cueto will get the nod on the right wing, with Delon Armitage preferred as an impact sub.
