Talk about a big hit! Jennifer Aniston punches her cheating boyfriend Will Forte in new She's Funny That Way trailer

She is said to be one of the nicest women in Hollywood.

But Jennifer Aniston unleashes her inner pugilist when she punches her on-screen boyfriend in the trailer for She's Funny That Way.

Her eccentric therapist character Jane Claremont gives Will Forte an almighty right cross after catching him on a dinner date with a prostitute-turned-thespian played by Imogen Poots.

Imogen's character is in fact one of her clients, and before Jennifer delivers her blow tells Forte, 'great, there's my therapist.'

Jennifer's angry character grunts at Imogen, before storming off in a rage.

The Friends favourite is almost unrecognisable as the eccentric therapist, with her glasses and conservative outfits leaving her looking far from her usual glamourpuss self. In fact some have said she looks more like Dustin Hoffman's iconic character Dorothy Michaels in Tootsie.

In an earlier hilarious scene in the trailer Jennifer's character cuts her beau off after he tells her she 'should try being more polite to people.'

As she ignores his answerphone pleas in front of a client, she tells the man: 'See what a good therapist I am, that's my boyfriend and I'm not picking up. This is your private time.'

Of course Jennifer's character actually cannot stand her irritating patients and and even her own friends, which makes the clip all the funnier.

Her character Jane is dating the playwright of a new Broadway show, who ends up falling for Imogen's character.

Of course this film, which follows drama caused by the intersection of Poots' character Izzy's duelling careers, raises the level of romantic intrigue beyond the level of a mere love triangle. Indeed six characters in total end up embroiled with each other on some level.

The level of complication just keep rising,  as the show's director, played by Owen Wilson, pays for Imogen's escort service, despite being married to his show's star.

Other big names featuring in the forthcoming film, which is slated for an August 14 release, include Kathryn Hahn, Welsh hunk Rhys Ifans and Joanna Lumley.
