She may only be 17 but Elle Fanning looks every inch the Hollywood A-lister.

The award-winning actress looked stylish beyond her teenage years when she stepped out in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday.

Elle cut an elegant figure, slipping into a white tailored wrapover skirt and an equally smart collarless striped blouse which had bell sleeves.

The fair-skinned star strutted around the shopping district in a pair of metallic leather stilettos which lengthened her 5ft 6" frame.

She carried a white satchel-style handbag and wore her long blonde locks down and straightened.

Elle was enjoying some quality time with her mother, Heather Joy, and grandmother, Mary Jane Odum, and the trio indulged in some serious retail therapy.

The Hollywood star treated herself to some Topshop goodies as later that day, she was seen carrying a paper bag from the British-based high street fashion chain.

Elle and her relatives were also spotted checking out popular jewellery stand V.T.B.L.T.

The starlet's grandmother and mother were more casually dressed than the teenager.

Her grandma opted for a blue snakeskin print maxi dress and a white cardigan while her mother slipped into a printed mini dress which she wore with metallic heeled ballerina pumps.

The family outing came hours after a fun-filled meal with a male companion and a group of friends.

Elle appeared giggly as she headed to The Six restaurant in Studio City wearing a cute floral-printed sundress.

For a casual touch, the We Bought A Zoo star donned white Converse trainers and carried the same white mini handbag she brought shopping with her.

She left her lightened locks loose in a centre-parting and went make-up free for a fresh-faced look.

Elle showed no signs of tiredness even though she was up until the early hours of Sunday hanging out with her pals at trendy West Hollywood spot - Chateau Marmont. 

Much like her daytime outing, the teen star couldn't contain her giggles as she left the celebrity hot spot.

The actress - born Mary Elle Fanning - will soon be seen as transgender teen called Ray in the indie drama Three Generations alongside Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon and Tate Donovan.

Elle told Teen Vogue of the flick which hits theatres September 18: 'Taking this special journey with Ray showed me the human capacity for love, courage, and acceptance,

'Along the way, I came to realise how many transgender people do not experience the same compassion and support, and I hope this film brings more awareness to their struggle.'

Elle kicked off her career in showbusiness as a toddler, playing the younger versions of her now 21-year-old sister, Dakota, who also was a child actress.  

At age seven, Dakota had her breakout role in 2001's I Am Sam and Elle played a younger version of her character Lucy Diamond Dawson, before finding fame in Daddy Day Care and We Bought A Zoo.

In 2011, Elle went on to play the strong-minded Cleo in Sofia Coppola's film Somewhere, for which she won the Young Hollywood's Actress of the Year award.
