Serves him right! Jack Dermott pays the price for taking £23,000 from the prize fund in series of degrading tasks on Big Brother

He scolded Chloe for selfishly taking £5,000 from the Big Brother prize fund, earlier this month.

But when he found himself swiping a whopping £23,000 from under his housemates' noses, Jack McDermott surely knew there's no such thing as free money.

And that maxim came true in Monday's episode of the Channel 5 reality TV series.

Throughout the day, Jack was set a variety of grim tasks to complete.

The first saw him agree to be ‘nil by mouth’, which added two thousand pounds to the prize fund while the other housemates were then provided with a McDonalds breakfast: Jack's favourite start to the day.

For Jack’s second task, he was forced to submerge himself in fish guts. In doing so he earned one thousand pounds for the prize fund. The housemates leave Jack in the garden and go back into the house. Jack says: 'Please stay here. Its encouragement.'

But, as an added part of the task, Jack was forced to allow the housemates to pour four more buckets of surprise contents over his head. Chloe says: 'I’ve never smelt anything in my life so bad.'

Clearly still angry at Jack, she seems particularly keen to see him suffer.

Moving into the Diary Room, she tells Big Brother: 'So I took five grand and ran out the fire escape crying because everyone made me feel so bad and Jack takes twenty four grand and gets pats on the back from everyone.

'I don't think that's fair. I still felt guilty about the five grand now.'

Teasing him further, Big Brother then gives Jack an envelope with the football scores inside. Jack must wear the envelope around his neck until Big Brother decides he can take it off.

He will earn one thousand pounds for the prize fund if he doesn’t open it. Jack finds this challenging saying that this task is worse than the fish guts paddling pool.

He says: 'I want to know but this is not going to break me.'

Adding insult to injury, everyone except Jack is then given KFC - his favourite junk food - before he is asked to top-up yesterday’s spray tan - earning £3,600 for the prize fund.

The Housemates watch Jack getting his tan on the projection screen in the living area. Jack is given seven coats of spray tan.

Speaking about whether the forfeits are worth the money he swiped, Jack tells BB: 'It’s just as amazing as it was yesterday. I can’t be sad because I’ve got this. I’m trying a few things today to redeem myself to my other Housemates.

'Whatever’s coming, I’ll have to deal with.'

But Big Brother hadn't finished with him. Offering £5,000 to the prize fund, Jack was then asked to shave a strip of hair off his head.

Chloe mentions he must do it because he stole prize fund money the day before.

He completes the task with gusto, meaning he raised a total of £14,000 for the prize fund, which redeems himself with the others.

The final total is one hundred and sixteen thousand, one hundred pounds.
