Licks of love! Jimmy Kimmel sticks his tongue out at wife Molly McNearney as he collects a TV award in Italy

It's not the usual pose one expects a celebrity to make on the red carpet at an awards ceremony but then it is Jimmy Kimmel.

The late night comedian and host of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live stuck his tongue out at wife Molly McNearney as he posed for photos at the Ischia Global Film Festival Awards on Sunday night.

And it's clear the 47-year-old's better half wasn't quite sure how to respond.

The couple seemed in high spirits as they arrived for the event on the Italian island of Ischia off the coast of Naples.

As photographers continued snapping, Kimmel managed to get his act together.

Finally puckering up, he planted a big wet one on his wife's lips.

Kimmel had been invited to the festival to receive an award honoring him for his career in television

And he clearly had a few jokes to make in his acceptance speech judging from the laughter on the audience's faces. 

According to Variety.com, the festival on Ischia is a sister event to Capri Hollywood. 

The goal of both is to foster closer ties between Hollywood and the Italian and European film industries by bringing industry people together to network while staying in luxury resorts

Hot Italian night: The comedian appeared to break a sweat despite opting for a open-necked shirt with his suit while Molly was cool in a little black dress and heels

It was evidently a hot night on the Italian isle as Kimmel looked like he'd worked up a bit of a sweat.

He wore an open-necked white shirt with a a dark blue suit for his big night out and rocked some designer stubble.

Wife Molly, whom he married two years ago, looked much cooler in a sleeveless black dress and colorful heeled sandals.
