Do not look into the eyes! Sculpture proves that people cannot resist a bit of temptation and squirts them with water when they stare

  • Norwegian artist Erik Pirolt made sculpture and attached warning sign to it
  • Hidden cameras captured people disobeying sign and staring at the statue
  • Sculpture retaliated by spraying them with water and giving them a fright

A sculpture proved that most people cannot resist a bit of temptation – and gave them a fright for their disobedience.

Norwegian artist Erik Pirolt sculptured the head of a man, placed it behind a viewing glass and attached a sign to it warning people not to look at it in the eyes.

He then placed it inside what appears to be an art gallery and a hidden camera was set up to catch the people disobeying the command.

In the video a number of people walk over to the sculpture, read the sign and immediately begin staring intently at the face.

Approaching cautiously, the first man moves his head right up to the screen, which stands in front of the statue, and gets as close as pressing his head to the glass.

Suddenly jets of water spray from the two eye holes – causing the man to stumble backwards in surprise and fall over.

Next two women stare into the eyes of the statue and jump back in shock when water is fired at them.

Humorously one of the women instinctively puts her hands to her face in a bid to protect herself from the spray.

The video concludes with a few more screams of surprise and a laugh from another woman seemingly embarrassed that she received such a fright.

The clip was posted to YouTube in 2011, but has only recently started trending online in the last few weeks.

It has subsequently been viewed over two million times.
