They've been Strictly Come Dancing's golden couple since they announced their engagement in April 2013.

And Karen Hauer and Kevin Clifton tied the knot over the weekend in front of their family and friends in a glitzy ceremony in London.

The professional dancers shared the good news on Twitter on Monday as they prepared to jet off for their honeymoon, with Kevin, 32, posting: 'Thanks everyone for all the messages. Best day ever for me and @karen_hauer Karen Clifton.'

He added: 'And to my wife @karen_hauer Karen Clifton i feel so lucky to be your husband'.

Karen also took to the social media site to share her delight after officially changing her last name.

The 33-year-old Venezuelan beauty wrote: 'Yep.. my shiny new last name Mrs.Karen Clifton. #whatsmyname #wife #newlyweds @keviclifton #mrandmrsc, ' before adding in a soppy display of affection, 'Love u hubby x'.

'Off to the airport w my hubby @keviclifton .. Honeymoon time! #newlyweds #mrandmrsc', she enthused as the pair make the most of some rare free time in the midst of their TV commitments and stage shows.

The quick-footed couple, who no doubt put on a stellar display for their first dance, invited a host of former Strictly alumni including Scott Mills and Rachel Riley along to the bash.

Radio DJ Scott posted, 'Thankyou @keviclifton and @karen_hauer for the invite on Saturday. Such a fun day. Enjoy the honeymoon!! Xx'.

This marks Karen's first wedding and Kevin's second; the dancer was previously married to fellow professional dancer Clare Craze, with the pair splitting up in 2010.

Kevin - whose divorce was finalised in 2013 - originally auditioned for the show at the same time as Karen in 2012, but only joined the group of dancers for the next series.

He proposed to Karen in April 2013 during the stage show of Burn The Floor and the pair previously joked that they'd like a live Strictly wedding.

Stars at Karen’s Great Gatsby-themed hen party in June included GMB presenter Susanna Reid, who partnered Kevin on the show back in 2013, and fellow Strictly dancer Janette Manrara.
