Ramsay's fashion nightmare! Gordon gets caught out copying pal David Beckham's nautical style as he jets into Los Angeles with family

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery.

So perhaps David Beckham will crack a smile when he sees his old pal Gordon Ramsay copied his nautical style for his arrival into Los Angeles with his family on Monday.

The Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare's star was having a fashion bad dream of his own as he padded around the LAX arrival lounge.

For while the 48-year-old looked perfectly serviceable in his black and white striped top, jeans and trainers, he was always going to come off second best in comparison with Goldenballs.

David wore an almost identical look to the opening ceremony for a new H&M store in Macau, China, on a few weeks ago.

Even if he was trailing in the fashion stakes, the celebrity cook still proved to be a top dad however, as he manfully held his 13-year-old daughter Matilda's hand as they sauntered out of the arrival lounge.

Of course, that will come as no shock to the father-of-four's children, as he loves nothing more than spending quality time with them.

In fact the foul-mouthed Scot, who once played for Glasgow Rangers before injury wrecked his footballing career, only just completed a triathlon with his son Jack on Sunday

Posing together in Gordon Ramsay 100 tees, the father and son duo looked fresh-faced and proud after completing their athletic achievement.

And if they had any aches or pains from their grueling weekend race, the almost-identical pair didn't show it, as they cheerfully posed for a photograph together.

Gordon and his wife Tana, 41, have been close friends with David and Victoria for several years and have even spent Christmases together.

During the footballers stint at LA Galaxy, the cook became a permanent fixture in the crowd cheering him on, while the player publicly supported Gordon's professional endeavors by frequently taking his family to eat at his restaurants.

And at David's 40th birthday celebrations in Marrakech, Morocco, earlier this year, Tana and Gordon were some of the first guests to arrive.
