'I'm still digesting it': Michael Douglas remembers his late mother Diana and plans on taking her ashes back to Bermuda

Michael Douglas is still in shock over the death of his mother Diana Douglas Webster, who perished of cancer on July 3 at the age of 92.

'I'm still digesting it. It just sort of happened,' the 70-year-old actor told People on Monday evening.

'[She had a] wicked sense of humor, very bright. [She taught me to] give it your best shot. She's English and Bermudian, so they have kind of this stiff upper lip and can carry on.'

'Bermuda is very special. I was raised there with my mother who passed away just recently and I'll be taking her ashes back to Bermuda soon,' Douglas told host Lorraine Kelly.

'My mother's side of the family, you should know, is Scottish. They were originally, say, privateers and ended up in Bermuda in the 1600s and so my family established itself in Bermuda in the 1600s.'

Despite their six-month split in 2013, Michael and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are excited to celebrate their 15th anniversary on November 18.
