With more than 100,000 Brits trying teeth-whitening treatments every year, having a set of pearly whites is becoming more sought-after than ever.

For many, dubbed 'bleachorexics', tooth-whitening has become an integral part of the beauty routine.

But for those less keen to throw money at their smile, a new lipstick that promises to enhance your smile may be the perfect solution.

Louise Redknapp, who runs her own natural beauty company, Wild About Beauty, and Listerine have teamed up to offer lipsticks that make your smile look whiter.

Can a lipstick make your teeth look whiter? Louise Redknapp, who runs her own natural beauty company, Wild About Beauty, and Listerine think so. The duo have teamed up on a range of Lipsticks that promise to enhance your smile by bringing out the correct colouring in your skintone (left, with bare lips and, right, using the £15 smile-boosting lipstick)

Louise has selected three £15 lipsticks in varying colours, each one designed to enhance your smile.

FEMAIL tested the Wild About Beauty Nutrilips in Ella, a deep berry shade designed to boost skin's brightness.

'Deep colours work wonders as they reflect off your smile to really boost brightness and whiteness,' explained Louise.

'If you’re looking for a dark colour, always go for a rich berry with cool undertones, over a brown as brown hues can bring out an unwanted yellow appearance in teeth.'

Louise has selected three £15 lipsticks for her partnership with the mouthwash brand in varying colours, each one designed to bring the best out of your smile and make it even whiter when used in conjunction with Listerine's new offering

Louise has also unveiled a soft pink hue, Caroline, which she says is the perfect sheer shade to compliment any make-up look.

'It has cooler pink undertones, to minimise yellow tinges in teeth and helps them look naturally radiant while brightening your smile,' she said.

Her third offering, a high impact fuschia pink called Abby, claims to create a dramatic contrast thanks to its blue undertones, which Louise says help frame the mouth and make the whiteness of teeth really stand out.

'When choosing pinks, always opt for cooler undertones and avoid shades with yellow or orange undertones as they tend to accentuate the yellow in teeth,' she advised.

Speaking about the partnership, Louise said: 'I truly believe the best beauty accessory a woman can wear is her smile - it's powerful and contagious'

FEMAIL was impressed when we road-tested the cosmetic. Deni Kirkova, who applied the berry shade, said: 'I love lipstick but selecting the correct shade to enhance my smile has never crossed my mind. Until now.

'When I looked back at the pictures, I couldn't believe how much brighter my smile looked compared to the snap when I was wearing nothing on my lips.'

Louise added: 'I truly believe the best beauty accessory a woman can wear is her smile - it’s powerful and contagious.

'For me a bright, healthy smile begins with proper mouth care: brush with your favourite whitening toothpaste and finish with a swish of Listerine’s new Advanced White mouthwash. Then comes the really fun part, choosing the perfect lippy to set off your smile.

'Colours with blue undertones or a punch of high impact colour work to cancel out any yellowing, which instantly makes teeth appear whiter.'
