The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe was left in floods of tears on Monday as she insisted she was torn between her two final suitors.

But the most important relationship may prove to be the hatred between the finalists themselves - with Kaitlyn admitting their bitter feud could be the deciding factor.

After sending home software salesman Ben H, 26, in the final rose ceremony - despite insisting she was 'falling in love' with him after their night in the fantasy suite - Kaitlyn was already tearfully trying to decide between Shawn B and Nick.

And she was making no secret of how Shawn's raging jealousy at Nick after finding out he had sex with Kaitlyn - who eventually had fantasy suite overnighters with all three final men - could ultimately be the biggest decider.

The tension rose to even greater heights with two confrontations between the pair, with Shawn calling Nick 'an a**hole' and eventually telling him: 'Get the f*** out of my place right now.'

'Nick and Shawn just hate each other,' Kaitlyn admitted. 'It's actually taking away what I feel for both of them.

'I feel the hate between them, and I don't want to be a part of that. But I am - I'm right in the middle of it. And that sucks.'

Later, she added: 'These two guys acting like they're in high school and having this feud - and wasting precious time - I just feel like it's showing their immature sides.

'I don't want to allow the drama between Shawn and Nick to affect what I feel for them - but it is.'

Saying that the fight was giving her 'a lot of stress and anxiety', she admitted: 'I worry that that will get in the way of what really matters here. It's making my head a mess.'

She admitted to host Chris Harrison that the jealousy Shawn has shown after her sex confession was definitely her biggest concern.

'I think to a point there's always a certain amount of jealousy,' she told the host.

'But a healthy amount is one thing - one that could sabotage a relationship is another.'

She was also worried about Shawn's reputation after Nick told her he had bragged about being 'Eskimo brothers' with a country singer for having sex with the same girl on the same night.

But Shawn made up for it in part during their date when she got him to strip naked, showing off his ripped personal trainer's body and his sense of humor as he chased her naked through a golf course.

Yet the feud does not seem to have tainted Nick so much in her eyes, with her blushing and smiling as she told Chris that Nick has 'kind of got it all'.

'Nick's a good amount of everything,' she told him. 'Any time I'm with him, or in these moments, it's just very passionate.'

Perhaps a more worrying sign came for Shawn after Kaitlyn met his family and, after getting their blessing, he finally told her he loved her.

But instead of replying in kind, after kissing him she soon left his room - and broke down in tears after admitting that his declaration left her thinking 'I don't know'.

However, when Nick once again declared love for her after the family meeting, she stayed around to laugh and kiss him some more, and asked: 'Promise?'

'With all my heart,' he insisted.

And rather than question her feelings, she later smiled as she said: 'I feel in love with Nick. I feel in love with his family. It's great.

'I don't question a life with Nick. This is a guy I'd want to spend the rest of my life with.'

But there was clearly no love lost between the finalists, with Nick confronting Shawn to try to discuss their earlier confrontation in which he had attacked him as 'an a**hole'.

Shawn happily repeatedly told his rival that he 'spent all night with Kaitlyn' - which Nick called 'not classy' - but refused to discuss anything else with him.

'Honestly, if I hear my name come out of your mouth one more time to Kaitlyn it's not gonna be pretty,' he warned.

'What, are you threatening me?' Nick asked.

'I had a great time with Kaitlyn, I just got back from there,' Shawn again taunted him. 'Honestly you're the last person I want to see. I don't care if I ever talk to you again for the rest of my life. So how about you just get the f*** out of my place right now.'

'Shawn claims he wants to be a man but he wasn't man enough to have a conversation,' Nick complained later. 'His response is to get fired up and then threaten me. It says a lot about his character. I don't respect him.'

Of Kaitlyn, Nick said: 'She's got to be sick of all this. We all are.'

Ben was sent home despite Kaitlyn gushing about how she was falling in love with him and how he always made her 'automatically feel in a better mood'.

'I love kissing him, I love talking to him, I love being around him. This could be the beginning of forever,' she had insisted after their date that included horse riding, a picnic in the Irish countryside and an overnight stay in a castle.

'Every time I'm with Ben I just get reminded how great it is. I could picture a life with Ben.

'When I'm with Ben it feels good and it feels right and it feels like all of those feelings when you're falling in love. I do feel like I am falling in love with Ben,' Kaitlyn confided.

She seemed to find it particularly hard saying goodbye to him after their overnighter, in which she admitted she had 'about half-an-hour of sleep'.

'And now I've never been more confused in my whole life,' she said. 'I didn't want to say goodbye to Ben this morning - I didn't expect to fall in love with him.'

But she was soon sending him home from the final rose ceremony, despite admitting: 'It terrifies me to think that the guy I'm sending home tonight is someone that I am definitely falling in love with.'

Walking him outside to the waiting car, she told him it was 'so hard' to send him home, adding: 'Honestly I just feel that you are going to find the best girl in the world and it frustrates me that it's not me.'

'When I'm with you, life is good,' Ben told her. 'And I would love to be able to share a life with you. But that's not going to happen - and that will be tough.'

Ever the gentleman, his final words to her were: 'You look great tonight by the way. Miss ya.'

'I have zero doubt that Kaitlyn and I could have had something great,' he said as he was driving away. 'There's no question in my mind that I was falling in love with her, but it's over.'

Shawn's private date with her was on a golf course where she laughed at how he looked like 'a huge dork' in a bright pink golfer's shirt she picked for him.

'But the hottest dork ever,' she stressed.

Shawn, an avid golfer, said Kaitlyn's 'beautiful swing' was a 'turn on' saying: 'It just something else to the check box of wife material.'

'Golf is like love in that it's something you can do when you're old and gray - and that's what I'm hoping for in our relationship,' he said.

But she soon had him stripped naked during a game of truth or dare, wearing nothing but a pair of socks and golfing one-handed as the other hand covered his privates.

'Mum, dad, granny - you might want to change the channel for this one,' he had warned.

It was his family, especially his older sisters, that he was particularly worried about, saying of their planned meeting with Kaitlyn: 'She has to get along with my family. If they don't, then it wouldn't work.'

Her sisters were in fact easily won over - but his dad Steve was clearly alarmed at the whole process, asking him: 'What the hell's going on? This is nuts.'

But after Shawn insisted his love was for real, his dad soon told him he was '100 percent behind' him and encouraged him to confess his love that night.

'If it's in your heart you have to say it,' he told him.

'You've got to go with it, man, absolutely - with your heart.'

Nick's family meeting was far more fraught, bringing back painful memories of how they met Andi Dorfman before she broke his heart when he was last a finalist.

'I just couldn't imagine him going through another heartbreak like that,' his mother Mary said in tears as she waited to meet Kaitlyn, the room clearly tense with nervous emotions.

After teasing her son that she wanted to 'slap you up' for putting her through the emotional rollercoaster of the show again, she insisted that the meeting felt different this time.

'I feel like the next time I see you either you're going to be on Cloud Nine or…' she said, too emotional to finish the sentence.

'I think the only thing that's comforting me is how I see her looking at you. I didn't see that last year with Andi.'

'I don't want to sound cliched but she really is one of a kind,' Nick assured his mother.

Earlier he had also told Kaitlyn that she was very different than Andi, despite his wild declarations of love the last time he was on the show.

Insisting that he had 'had some questions' and would have had to 'take a leap of faith' last time, he told her: 'With you I don't have to take a leap of faith. I don't have any reservations about you or us. I just don't.

'I guess I'm trying to say - I don't think it's a big surprise - but am totally in love with you. But more than I can even say in words.'

By the end of the show, Kaitlyn was in tears at the thought of having to say goodbye to one of the men in the finale that will be shown in two weeks..

'My emotions are so intense with two people,' she said.

'I'm so confused that I feel this strongly.'
