A flexible performer! Margot Robbie shows off her supple body as she performs the splits while hanging upside down from a harness in new Suicide Squad trailer

She's known for embracing her character's traits in every movie she stars in. 

But Margot Robbie has taken her dedication to her Suicide Squad role as Harley Quinn to the next level in the film's new trailer, showing off incredible strength and flexibility. 

In a sneak peek that was released on Monday the 25-year-old hangs upside-down from the top of a high-security cell, showing off her jaw-dropping acrobatic skills.

Wearing a ripped white singlet, the Australian actress performs a wide split while stretching her arms straight down as she dangles from the metal bars of a holding cage.

Removing herself from the material swing, the actress then sizes up a guard who has been silently observing the supervillain's actions from outside her cell. 

She's then seen licking the bars of her cage.

Margot rocked a white face, smudged dark eye make-up, bright red lipstick and facial tattoos which include a small love heart on the top of her left cheek bone and the word 'rotten'.

Following her escape from the monitored jail cell, Margot added some colour to her look with bright pink and blue dyed tips as she tied them back into two high pigtails.

The former Neighbours actress also switched up her attire, changing into a pair of black fish net stockings, black sequenced underwear and a ripped white and red polo shirt which read 'Daddy's Little Monster'.

She added a white and gold baseball-styled jacket and a pair of white boot high-heels to her rebellious look.

Towards the end of the three minute clip, Margot showed off her cheeky side as she displayed a large smile while driving recklessly down the busy city street.

The action film also stars Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, Jai Courtney and Ben Affleck.  

Suicide Squad will be released in cinemas in Australia in on August 5 2016.
