Floyd Mayweather poses for photo on top of £3m Koenigsegg supercar (one of only three that have been made worldwide)

Floyd Mayweather's love of money and flash cars is common knowledge and the pound-for-pound boxing king's passion for the latter was on show on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old was pictured sitting on top of an ultra rare Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita inside the showroom of Fusion Luxury Motors in Los Angeles.

Mayweather's personal assistant uploaded the photo on Instagram with the caption: 'Repost from @fusionluxurymotors & @icedoutbarber --- "TIMES DONT LAST, TOUGH PEOPLE DO!" @floydmayweather #TBE #TMT #worldwide #worldclass #sep12 #koenigsegg #koenigseggautomotive.'

It is unclear whether or not the the undefeated welterweight champion did indeed purchase the Trevita - but if he did it would have cost in the region of $4.8million (£3.1m).

Described as a 'diamond on wheels', only three Trevitas have been produced worldwide with the car travelling 0-60 in 2.9 seconds.

The purchase of the Trevita would add to Mayweather's impressive super fleet of cars.

Earlier this month, the 48-0 boxer spent $100,000 (£65,000) to transform his 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

He had decided his off-road car needed to replicate the luxurious look of his other cars so he upgraded his Jeep from top to bottom.

On July 10, the self-proclaimed 'TBE' (The Best Ever) took to Facebook to thank fans for their support and he also confirmed he will fight again on September 12 - in what could be his last professional bout before retiring.

He said: 'To My fans, your loyalty and support has given me the best 20 years I could ask for and while at the top, I plan to go out on top....see you back in the ring September 12th!'
